Kathryn Vast comes from a classical background but enjoys researching and arranging folk styles of music for the cello and mixed ensembles. She has performed for many years in Classical Quartets and Trios and is also one of the founding members of The Sonoma County Philharmonic, a 70 member orchestra. She often performed as principal cellist of that group and toured with them to China in 2010. In 2015, she accompanied the California Redwood Chorale on tour to Vienna and Budapest.

Carl Vast performs many styles of music on his vintage acoustic guitars but is known primarily for jazz and Bossa Nova. A highly professional and versatile performer in the wine country of Northern California, Carl is in demand as a soloist and with his diverse combos. He is often asked to represent other musical groups for corporate and social events and is the main contact for scheduling Solstice.

Bob Afifi was born in Berkeley, CA. A freelance musician, Bob has played and recorded with numerous ensembles ranging in style from the Baroque period to the 21st Century. He holds a B.A. in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University and a M.M. in Classical Flute from San Francisco State University. In addition to his performances, Bob is the author of "Solos for Jazz Flute," analysis and note-for-note transcriptions of flute solos by such artists as Eric Dolphy, James Newton, Dave Valentin, and Hubert Laws, published by Carl Fischer. He currently lives in Sebastopol, enjoying the company of five feral cats.
