Laura Simpson, a native San Franciscan, is considered the “go-to” harpist of the greater Bay Area and the Wine Country of Northern California. In addition to performing at prestigious hotels, Ms. Simpson often lends her talent to Northern California symphonies, corporate events, winery dinners and weddings.
Beautiful harp music has long been associated with the world’s finest luxury hotels. Laura’s residencies have included the Four Seasons Hotel, London (at Hyde Park Corner); the Intercontinental Hotel, Bahrain; The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, San Francisco; Hotel San Maarten, Laguna Beach; Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles; and The Fairmont San Francisco.
Laura is renowned as “the” Holiday Tea Harpist at the San Francisco’s historic Palace Hotel. These daily performances occur annually from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. During other months of the year Ms. Simpson is the resident harpist at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.
A sought-after instructor, Laura currently teaches harp privately with a substantial waiting list. She holds a Specialist Music degree for Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze from London University and a State of CA Music Specialist credential for grades K-12. Laura’s education profile includes holding a Licentiate in Dalcroze Eurhythmics and a BA from the University of California. She studied at several revered universities in London, including Trinity College of Music, The Dalcroze Institute, and London University (the Froebel Institute).
